Privacy

This is a personal site of static pages. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter, and it sets no cookies. The little data that does get processed is described below.

Who is responsible

Yavuz Sönmez — contact@yavuzsonmez.com. I am the controller for the processing described here, in the sense of the GDPR.

Hosting

The site is served by Vercel (Vercel Inc., United States), which hosts it on my behalf and handles this data as a processor under its own data processing terms. Like any web server, Vercel processes technical request data — your IP address, the page requested, the referrer and your browser's user agent — in order to deliver the page and to protect the service from abuse. Some of it appears for a short while in logs available to me in Vercel's dashboard before Vercel discards it; I do not use it to profile anyone or combine it with anything else. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). As Vercel is based in the United States, delivering the site involves a transfer outside the EU, covered by the safeguards in those terms and described in Vercel's privacy notice.

Storage in your browser

Your light/dark theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage so the site does not flash the wrong theme on your next visit. It stays on your device, is not an identifier, and is never sent anywhere. Clearing your site data removes it.

Analytics

None. This build loads no analytics or tracking scripts, and no third-party script of any kind. Fonts are served from this domain rather than fetched from Google.

If you email me

I use your address and whatever you write to answer you, and I keep the exchange only as long as the conversation needs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Email is not confidential in transit unless you encrypt it — bear that in mind for anything sensitive.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to contact@yavuzsonmez.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority — in Germany, the authority of the federal state where you live or work.

Changes

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top is the last revision.
